Diagnose Car AC Problems Early With an Inspection

Faulty car air conditioning can be hard to diagnose and expensive to repair, depending on the nature of the fault and how long you’ve had it. If you’ve been driving in the winter, and only just started using your AC, but it doesn’t feel as efficient as you think it should be, then it’s well worth getting it inspected now. Wait until the height of the Las Vegas summer, and you could find that you’re faced with an uncomfortably hot car and an uncomfortably high repair bill.

Be Proactive to Catch Problems Early

There are some tests that you can do at home. If you turn your AC on, but the air coming out of the vents isn’t cool when it should be, or there is no air coming out of the vents at all, then that’s a sign of a problem. Strange noises or smells could be a sign of an issue with the compressor or fans or a leak in the system. These are all things that are clear signs that you need to take your car in for a proper service.

We have the tools and systems required to perform full diagnostics, including the ability to hook up to your car’s systems to get detailed readings about the health of the engine. Many problems with air conditioning systems are simple to fix – requiring a replacement fan or blend door, or a top-up of the Freon levels. Others are more serious, such as problems with the compressor which would require a full replacement.

Servicing Stops Problems Before They Happen

On average, your AC will lose 10% of its refrigerant each year. This means that to keep it working at full efficiency you will need to ‘re-gas’ the air conditioning yearly. As a part of an annual service, you can get your system checked, to ensure that there are no leaks, and you can get any excess moisture and air evacuated from the system. We offer this service as well as a general inspection service, and if any problems are spotted then we will tell you what the recommended course of action is. If you do need repair work done, then there will be an extra fee for this. We will advise you of any repairs that we recommend and ask you whether you wish them to be performed, and give you a quote so that you can come back later if you wish.
